The course aims to give an appropriate knowledge on methods of transmission and communication of Musical Heritage and to to provide critical tools for the promotion of music in the cultural contemporary landscape.

Detailed Course Content

The first part of the course will be devoted to the definition of the concept of Musical Heritage in European Musical History. The second part of the course will be dedicated to institutions and events that contribute to transmission of Musical Heritage: the Pordenone Festival “Le giornate del cinema muto”, the cinematographic genre of biopic (or biographical picture) dedicated to the great composers, the Regietheater in the history of Teatro alla Scala and Piccolo Teatro in Milan.
