NARRAZIONI DI VIAGGIO E GEOGRAFIE LETTERARIE

Academic Year 2023/2024 - Teacher: SEBASTIANO ITALIA

Expected Learning Outcomes

According to the Dublin descriptors, students, at the end of the course, will demonstrate:

- knowledge and understanding in a post-secondary level field of study and knowing the fundamental themes in one's field of study;

- ability to apply knowledge and understanding in order to demonstrate a professional approach and possess adequate skills both to conceive and support arguments and to solve problems in one's field of study

-  learning skills necessary to undertake subsequent studies with a high degree of autonomy.

The main learning goal of the course is the acquisition of knowledge, both in historical-diachronic and stylistic-formal terms, of fundamental moments and works concerning the representation of the theme of the journey in the historical development of Italian literature. This objective is accompanied by the constant interpretation of literary activity as an interrelation between historical time and geographical space. At the end of the course, in addition to the knowledge of significant works and authors in this sense, the student will be able to recognize the essential characteristics that connote the theme and its presence in the historical development of Italian literature; will be able to recognize the incidence of the theme (narration and travel) in literary works even outside the historical-linguistic context of Italian literature, adequately evaluating the formal, stylistic and symbolic characteristics of the works analyzed. They will also be able to autonomously apply the skills learned even in contexts new to those studied, making use of the knowledge acquired to mediate, thanks to the communication skills perfected along the course of the activity and the research method learned, the cultural heritage according to a historically, culturally and intellectually grounded and at the same time creative and active perspective.
