Tenured Lecturer in English linguistics. His research interests include Corpus Linguistics, (Critical) Discourse Analysis and Specilised Discourse, particularly Political and News Discourse. He was involved in many national research projects (on Specialised discourse, on media representation of the 2003 Iraq war) and a 6th EU frame project on European citizenship.
At present he is involved in the analysis of the internationalisation of the Italian university system, as a consequence of the Bologna Process and the Lisbon Strategy, and on gender representation in various textual genres.
