Beate Baumann is Associate Professor of GERMAN LANGUAGE, TRANSLATION AND LINGUISTICS [GERM-01/C] at the Department of Humanities of the University of Catania, where she teaches courses L11, L20, LM37 and LM38. 

She is Deputy Director of the POLYPHONIE inter-university research centre (University of Genoa and University of Catania) and Scientific Director of the UniCT Centre. 

She is Co-Editor of the journal Polyphonie. Mehrsprachigkeit_Kreativität_Schreiben (ISSN: 2304-7607), classified by ANVUR as a scientific journal. 

Author of numerous scientific publications and translator (German > Italian, Italian > German) of scientific texts and literature.

She has participated in numerous international and national conferences as a speaker and has given lectures at Italian and foreign universities. 

Visiting professor at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder, the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the University of Cologne.
