i have a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”;
i obtained a PhD in Iberian and Ibero-American Languages and Literature from the University of Palermo;
i am a researcher in Spanish literature;
i like dark music and I love the sea
- I graduated with a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, with a dissertation entitled “La Florida” by Garcilaso de la Vega el Inca;
- I obtained a PhD in Iberian and Ibero-American Languages and Literatures from the University of Palermo, with a thesis on Braulio Foz, a 19th-century Aragonese polymath;
- I was appointed lecturer in “Spanish Language and Literature” (Prof. F. Lobera), as well as lecturer in “Language, Culture and Institutions of Spanish-speaking Countries” (Prof. L. Pranzetti) at the Department of Romance Studies, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, “La Sapienza” University of Rome;
- I obtained, from the Rome Provincial Education Office, a teaching qualification for competition class 45/A Foreign Language – 46/A Foreign Languages and Civilisations, subject area 5, Spanish Language and Civilisation;
- on 15 October 2002, I was successful in the competitive selection process for a post as a university researcher in subject area L-LIN/07 – Spanish Language and Translation – organised by the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Catania; on 1 May 2007, I obtained a change of subject area from L-LIN/07 (Spanish Language) to L-LIN/05 (Spanish Literature);
- First as a contract lecturer, and then, from 2002, as a Research Fellow, I taught the following subjects at the Faculty of Languages of the University of Catania – at the Catania and Ragusa campuses (at the latter before it became the School of Languages and Literatures): Spanish Language and Literature (V. O.); Spanish Literature (undergraduate); Spanish Literature (Master’s degree); History of the Spanish Language (Master’s degree); Spanish Language II (undergraduate); Spanish Literature I and II (L11);
- I currently teach Spanish Literature II (L11).

my research focuses on cultural and postcolonial studies, women’s writing (from the modern and contemporary periods), and early Spanish feminism. my most recent research interests include Spanish identity narratives, 17th-century Spanish ‘pornotopias’, and ecocriticism.
