PHILOSOPHY AND HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY
The course will
analyze two examples of philosophical texts aimed at both the praxis and
theoretical dimensions of existence: one relating to ancient thought
(Epicurus), the other to modern thought (Spinoza). On this textual and theoretical
foundation, some fundamental moments in the history of European philosophy will
be retraced, with the aim of showing the elements of continuity in metaphysics,
albeit declined in different historical and cultural contexts.
