DIGITAL TEXT READING AND WRITING MODELS

Expected Learning Outcomes

Students at the end of the course should achieve:

1) Knowledge and understanding: to know the changes that have taken place in reading and writing (also from a diachronic perspective), and therefore to understand the dynamics between text, author and reader in the digital age. 

2) Applying knowledge and understanding: finding lexically and semantically relevant elements to understand, analyze and rewrite/re-mediate different textual typologies. 

3) Making judgments: critically interpreting texts based on the data collected. 

4) Communication skills: to be able to communicate the results of research and the methodological choices, highlighting the crucial aspects, using resources of the various textual genres, both in writing and in oral form. 

5) Learning skills: encouraging the development of one's own strategies and models for reading, understanding, analyzing and writing texts.

Detailed Course Content

A. Introduction (1 ECTS). From Gutenberg to the digital. The concept of author and authorship in the age of the world wide web. The death of the author, the electronic word and combinatorial literature. Digital humanities.
