Expected Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge and understanding

The knowledge of the theoretical processes underlying the phenomena of communication, the sociological characteristics of the mass media, knowledge of modern approaches to the sociology of cultural processes, multidisciplinary analysis of the technological imaginary

2. Applying knowledge and understanding

The understandings of the social characteristics of how traditional and digital media works

3. Making judgments

The ability to critically interpret the phenomena related to communication and persuasion strategies typical of the media

4. Communication skills

The ability to expose media facts in a argumented way with attention to the effects of the media itself

5. Learning skills

The competence in collecting information from the internet and critical evaluation of them

Course Structure

The course takes place essentially in the form of the frontal lesson, with extensive use of tools for student involvement: questions for the verification of concepts, collective discussion of crucial cases, digital tools for involvement and participation.

Attendance is not compulsory
