Lorenzo DI SILVESTRO

Adjunct Professor of Informatics [INF/01]

e received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Catania University, Italy, in 2007. He received his master degree (summa cum laude) in 2009.
In 2008 he joined the Institute of Legal Information Theory and Techniques of the Italian National Research Council (ITTIG-CNR) of Florence, where he worked for two years.
In 2014 he received a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Gallo. During his Ph.D. studies he has been visiting researcher at Visualisierungsinstitut (VISUS) der Universität Stuttgart (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Weiskopf.

He was postdoctoral research fellow in 2017/2018

Project: “Vision Exploitation for Data Interpretation (V.E.D.I.)”

He is postdoctoral research fellow in 2019/2020

Project:  “Analisi semantica automatica di testi giornalistici” nell’ambito del progetto ARIA finanziato da GOOGLE DNI
Main Research Topic: Natural Language Processing, Visual Analysis

His main research interests include information visualization, visual analytics, legal standards and semantic markup, knowledge representation, ontologies, text categorization and knowledge extraction.
