Moral Philosophy

Expected Learning Outcomes

Provide critical knowledge of some fundamental questions of moral philosophy, placed in the context of ancient, modern and contemporary thought, through reflection on the concept of good, virtue, happiness, freedom, duty and responsibility.

Course Structure

Lectures accompanied by analysis of readings and discussion of topics listed in the syllabus. Tutorials on a selection of topics.

Attendance of Lessons

Attendance is not compulsory.

The condition of man and his moral action with particular reference to the thought of Descartes and Kant.
