Expected Learning Outcomes

According to the Dublin descriptors, students, at the end of the course, will be able: develop communication skills using integrated methods corresponding to the levels A2+ B1 of the Common European Framework through the use of realia (paper, audio, video).

Introduce and analyze elements of phonetics, graphemics, lexicology and morphology; introduce the basics of translation for the development of an awareness in the meta-linguistic reflection.

Course Structure

First semester: module A (A2 to B1)

Second semester : module A, B, C.

Detailed Course Content

Phonics, phonemic and Graphemics. The scope of the noun: articles, adjectives, pronouns; comparative and superlative. The scope of the verb moods, tenses, conjugation of auxiliary verbs regular and irregular; formation and function of the paradigm of the times; passive and pronominal; impersonal verbs; The main defective verbs; c / a + être; the gallicisms; agreement of the past participle. The invariable parts of speech, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections and formation of adverbs. The various types of sentences: interrogative, negative, negative-interrogative, exclamatory, restrictive, mise en relief. Punctuation. Vocabulary: homonyms, paronyms, synonyms, hyponyms, hypernyms and antonyms; etymology, archaisms, neologisms, derived by affixes. Rational use of dictionaries, vocabularies and glossaries.
