Expected Learning Outcomes

According to the Dublin descriptors, the course aims to provide students with general and specific tools that will enable them to know and understand the lexical, morpho-syntactic and textual-pragmatic structures of German for specific purposes in the area of tourism and to apply these knowledges through the analysis and translation of concrete tourism texts, in order to develop the learning strategies and skills necessary for subsequent studies (B1 CEFR).

Detailed Course Content

The program is divided into two parts: the first is aimed at the introduction to generic aspects of German for specific purposes and specifically in the tourism language, examining the peculiarities of the microlanguage of tourism in German (lexical, semantic, morphological and syntactic aspects) based on a range of representative texts. The second concerns translation questions from a theoretical and practical point of view, in particular methods, techniques and translation strategies related to the transposition from German into Italian and vice versa.
