STORIA DELLA LINGUA ITALIANA M - Z
Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: MILENA ELISA DANIELA ROMANOExpected Learning Outcomes
1) Knowledge and understanding
By adopting principles and methods of Italian linguistics (procedural
approach; metalinguistic and diaphasic competence) and stylistics, the
course aims to offer the conceptual and methodological tools to
understand and then analyze texts on the phono-morphological;
morphosyntactic; semantic-lexical; syntactic-discursive levels
2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
Analysis and paraphrasing will be proposed in function of a didactics of
language and texts adapted to the new cognitive dynamics and the
complexity of the contemporary socio-cultural context.
3) Autonomy of judgement
The metalinguistic, stylistic and pragmatic-textual knowledge and skills
acquired to understand and analyze texts are aimed at enhancing students'
capacity for critical and autonomous judgement, and at developing
problem solving skills, also in view of their professional future
4) Communication skills
The training activity of the course involves interactive work in class on
the guided analysis of texts in order to transmit relational skills and public
speaking abilities
5) Learning skills
Objectives:
- to develop an advanced competence of the grammatical, lexical and
syntactic structures of the Italian language and of the relevant written and
oral uses;
- to provide cultural and methodological coordinates for the study of
Italian: historical and ethnocultural framework, sociolinguistic bases,
grammatical models and textual dimension;
- enhancing conscious metalinguistic competence, overcoming
automatisms in the study of grammar;
- introduce agile but functional grids for the linguistic analysis of texts of
various types, in which the literary text retains the fundamental role of
raising awareness of the historical-linguistic value of the tradition.
Course Structure
The course will adopt an interactive approach, aimed at making students
aware and therefore applying the "rules" of linguistic and textual use of
Italian with full mastery.
In the introductory lessons and in the workshop activities, paths of
external and internal linguistic history will be built, with exercises aimed
at transmitting metalinguistic skills suitable for a conscious knowledge of
the Italian language.
