The course provides an overview of the history of
music from the modern to the contemporary age, focusing on listening to musical
works.
In
accordance with the Dublin Descriptors, in particular, students will acquire:

the end of the course, students know and understand the historical dynamics in
reference to the context of production, performance and reception of exemplary
musical works.
- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding.
Ability
to recognize and interpret formal aspects of musical works through guided
listening and to know how to contextualize them.

Ability
to critically read the phenomena in question and to insert them into a
historical plot.
- Communication skills
Ability
to use, in an analytical and judgment-forming key, concepts taken from the
areas of historical-critical-musicological studies.
