Expected Learning Outcomes

1) Knowledge and understanding

Students will acquire knowledge on artistic phenomena of the contemporary age and the ability to understand the main methodologies of historical-artistic analysis, according to the methodologies of the History of mentalities and cultures.

2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding

Students will be able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired: to the recognition of styles, authors and main works; to the analysis of artistic movements of the contemporary age, to the historical, social and cultural phenomena that produced them.

3) Autonomy of judgment

Students will independently apply the knowledge acquired to the reading of the work of art, as well as specific historical-artistic, social and cultural contexts.

4) Communication skills

Students will acquire a specific technical language essential for a correct communication of historical-artistic knowledge.

5) Learning skills

Students will acquire the ability to carry out research in the historical-artistic field and access bibliographic and iconographic sources, on traditional, computer and network supports.

Course Structure

Classroom lessons, with projections of images, films, documentaries, listening music.

Guided visits to museums and galleries.

Attendance of Lessons

Attendance is not compulsory.
