Expected Learning Outcomes

The objectives of the course are to develop:

• knowledge and understanding of the main issues inherent to human geography, such as, for example, the fundamental role of human work in the creation of different places, landscapes, cultural values and political assets in the world;

•              the ability to recognize and describe the individual elements and the interrelationships between the elements of a landscape  at various  geographical scales;

•              the ability to apply the method of analogies and differences to Italian, European and Extraeuropean landscapes, identifyng the significant phisical elements, historical, artistic, architectural and anvironmental  emergencies;

•              the ability to develop independent judgment on the knowledge acquired and to make a decisions in a responsible and conscious way;

•              the ability to use the knowledge acquired to document, report and effectively communicate particular aspects of landscapes related to the issues of decay, conservation and enhancement.

Fostering the skills of spatial analysis so that students gain an understanding of the importance of scale and can evaluate and interpret the significance of spatial variation.. At the end of the course, students will have acquired an awareness of the importance of man's work and thought in the creation of different places, landscapes, cultures, values and political assets in the world.
