PUBLIC POLICIES FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

Expected Learning Outcomes
The course introduces to the theories on local
development focusing in particular on those related to culture.
The course aims to provide:
- Knowledge and analytical skills on
the fundamental concepts on local development.
- The capacity to apply the notions
acquired to analyse case studies.
- The capacity to collect and
interpret data on local development policies and relate them to the debate
about the role that culture can have for local development.
- The capacity to communicate the
notions learnt and their application to case studies both to experts and non
experts.
- The basis to develop further the analytical
skills acquired in future learning trajectories.
Course Structure
The course consists of participative lectures.
Group works will be used to help students to apply the
theoretical notions to case studies that the teacher or the same students will
choose.
Guest
lectures will also be organised to that experts will share their experience in
managing a cultural organisation.
