Sebastiano IMPOSA
Born in Ragusa Ibla on 2 November 1956, he graduated in Geological Sciences from the University of Catania in 1982.
Winner of the competition for a research post in Solid Earth Geophysics in 1990 and for the post of Associate Professor in Applied Geophysics in 2021 at the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences at UniCT. Appointed to the post of full professor in 2023.
From 1990 to 2000, he studied seismic events in areas of active volcanism. Subsequently, his research interests shifted and focused primarily on the application of Applied Geophysics methodologies aimed at the conservation, enhancement and enjoyment of cultural heritage.
He has participated in numerous national and international conferences as a speaker and has promoted and coordinated several scientific initiatives and research projects.
