Sergio FRENNA
Sergio Frenna is currently enrolled in the PhD program in Science for Cultural Heritage and Production (Cycle XL) at the University of Catania. Since 2023, he won a scholarship holder in the School of Specialization in Historical and Artistic Heritage at the University of Padua. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Art History and Cultural Heritage from the University of Catania in 2022, with a thesis on arms and armor in the collections of the Museo Civico di Castello Ursino, graduating with honors (110/110 cum laude). Previously, in 2020, he completed his Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Heritage, also in Catania, with a thesis on the sicilian works of Marcello Leopardi (110/110 cum laude).
Throughout his career, he has held responsible roles in various cultural institutions. Between 2023 and 2024, he collaborated with the Pontifical Delegation of the Basilica of Sant'Antonio, handling the inventory and database management of artistic assets, as well as participating in restoration activities and art historical research on the Gattamelata's equestrian monument. From 2022 to 2023, he worked at the Museo Civico di Castello Ursino as an ICCD catalog compiler, documenting and pre-cataloging historical and artistic assets.
He has been a ICOM member (International Council of Museums) since November 2023.
Currently, serves as a Junior Orientation Tutor for the Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Heritage (L-1) and for the same program's curriculum in Promotion of Cultural Heritage, based in Syracuse.
