Federica Claudia ABRAMO
Federica Claudia Abramo is a PostDoctoral Research Fellow in Didactics of Modern Languages (GLOT/01-B, formerly L-LIN/02), Lecturer in German Literature (GERM-01/B, formerly L-LIN/13) and Adjunct Lecturer in Didactics of Modern Languages (GLOT/01-B, formerly L-LIN/02) at the Department of Humanities, University of Catania.
In 2021 she obtained her PhD in German Literature at the University of Trento with a dissertation entitled: The representation of the relationship between body and mind in the short stories Der Magnetiseur, Die Abenteuer der Sylvester-Nacht and Die Automate by E.T.A. Hoffmann.
In 2017, she did a research period at the Freie Universität Berlin in collaboration with the D.I.N.E. Lab (Language of emotions) cluster of excellence for research on the processes of reading and understanding poetic text, under the supervision of Prof. Arthur M. Jacobs. He collaborated the WG 3 group of the COST E-READ (http://ereadcost.eu/), dedicated to the understanding of reading processes in the transition from analogue to digital, directed by Prof. Anne Mangen.
She is member of Associazione Italiana di Germanistica (AIG), Associazione italiana per la Promozione e lo Sviluppo della Didattica, dell’apprendimento e dell’insegnamento in Università (AsdUni), NewHums Research Center – Neurocognitive and Humanistic Studies of the University of Catania, the editorial board of the Wunderkammer series (Mimesis Edizioni) and the Inter-University Research Centre ‘LinE - Language in Education’ of the University of Trento.
Her research interests mainly concern: design of digital, flexible, collaborative and accessible learning environments; design of blended courses for L2/LS learning through literature and the application of digital tools for the university; methodologies and approaches of innovative didactics; relationship between German literature of Romanticism and medicine; writings of the fantastic between the late 18th and early 19th century.
She has organised and participated as a speaker at various national and international conferences.
