•Ancient Philosophy
•Neoplatonism
•Aesthetics
•History of Art
•Classicism in Western culture
My monograph in English on aesthetics in Pagan and Christian Neoplatonism has been published in March 2015. I have published a monograph on Gregory of Nyssa, an Italian translation with introduction and commentary of Plotinus’ Enneads III 2 and III 3 and many essays about Plotinus and the connections between Neoplatonism and Christianity.
My main research interest is aesthetics in the Neoplatonic philosophy, while my broader interest is the history of culture and the legacy of Classical civilization in the Western world. Currently I am planning new research on the issues related to the aesthetics of interior design and its connection with ethical questions on luxury and consumption, starting from Antiquity but with the goal of engaging with contemporary thought. I am also focusing on the views on artistic pleasure in the Hellenistic and Imperial age.
