Expected Learning Outcomes

Medieval History teaching for an advanced course aims to acquire abilities such as the identification and reading of historical sources, the mastering of explaining arguments, the exploitation of competences to use in the working world course structure.

Course Structure

The course focuses on the teaching and transmission of knowledge in the late medieval period (XIII-XVI centuries) based on Thomas d’Aquino’s works (1224-1274). From «Quaestiones quodlibetales» [1256-1272] to «Summa Theologiae» [1266-1273], the diffusion of Theology, History and Christian Thought based on Aristotelian rationality too can be counted as peculiarity of Medieval Civilization». Two weeks before the end of the course, will be organised a written verification test about the general part. Who will pass this test will be able to have an oral exsam only about monographic part.

Description of teaching and transmission of Theology, History and Christian Knowledge in the Late Medieval Period (XIII-XVI centuries), with focussing on the «Thomas d’Aquino’s works» (1256-1273), to analyze as documentary sources.
