Expected Learning Outcomes


The Philosophy of artificial minds consists in the multidisciplinary study of natural, hybridized and prosthetic corporeality.

The student will achieve:

1) Knowledge and understanding of the status of intelligence

2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding to the relationship with digital artefacts

3) Autonomy of judgment with respect to the information received in this area

4) Communication skills in the use of digital devices

5) Ability to learn from a variety of sources and tools


Course Structure


Frontal lessons, which will focus on reading and analyzing texts


Required Prerequisites

Adequate knowledge of the main paths of European philosophy from the Greek world to the twentieth century.

Detailed Course Content


MIND, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCES AND FREE WILL
The course will address the issue of free will, which is decisive for any definition and understanding of intelligence and the behaviors that arise from it. From here we will discuss the possibility, conditions and limits of a non-biological intelligence.
