ITALIAN LANGUAGE L2
Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: DARIA MOTTAExpected Learning Outcomes
Attending the course will give the students theoretical and methodological instruments to:
- reflect on the concept of linguistic typologies, language contact and interlinguistics;
- analyze contemporary Italian’s repertoire and its grammatical structure;
- know principal textual typologies in order to better organize didactical action;
- develop metalinguistical competence in order to teach Italian as a foreign language;
- know the European Framework;
- know how to analyze a movie’s linguistic features;
project didactic actions based on Audiovisuals.Course Structure
During the course, made of 18 lessons (36 h.), there will be a mid term test and a laboratory activity.
The students who will choose to do a practical activity will structure a lesson and will present their work to the class. The final version of this work has to be submitted to the teacher one week at least before final exam.
Detailed Course Content
- Structures of Italian language and of its varieties.
- Main theories on Second language teaching and acquisition;
- Italian as a L2 or a LS;
- features of the learners;
- The European Framework;
- linguist evaluation;
- didactical strategies;
- how to coordinate a multilingual group;
- The use of TV seriality for teaching Italian language as a L2 or Ls;
- The use of songs for Teaching Italian language;
- The use of online newspapers for teaching Italian language.
