Expected Learning Outcomes

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:

The course also aims to introduce students to the artistic, visual and literary manifestations of the modern and contemporary Arab world (19th-21st centuries) with an interdisciplinary approach, which contributes both to consolidating the knowledge acquired from a methodological point of view, and to approach different contents with a critical ability structured on the basis of the most recent studies relating to the specific field of theatre, cinema and Arabic literature.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:

The course also aims to strengthen research, collaboration and peer learning skills through exercises that students will have to carry out independently and in groups.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENTS:

Students will be able to move with mastery within the different forms and multiple themes of European and non-European literature from a comparative perspective and will be able to use specific application skills in the linguistic and glottological field. They will also be able to recognize the expressive and formal code of texts, grasping their values ​​and contents and formulating timely and relevant judgments about them.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Through lessons in seminar and laboratory format, students will have to relate and discuss in the classroom with each other and with the teacher on predefined topics assigned to each of them, honing their presentation skills.

Course Structure

The teaching, divided into two modules, will take place through lectures, classroom exercises, group and individual work.

Introduction to modern and contemporary Arab theatre. Introduction to Arab cinema and its relationship with contemporary literature.

-          Further study materials will be provided by the teacher during the course.

STUDENTS NOT ATTENDING MUST CONTACT THE TEACHER TO AGREE THE PROGRAM A SUITABLE IN ADVANCE OF THE DATE ON WHICH THEY INTEND TO TAKE THE EXAM.
