
Fabio LA ROSA
Fabio La Rosa (Palermo, 1978) is a Full Professor of Business Administration at the Department of Law of the University of Catania.
He graduated in 2001 with a degree thesis in Business Administration from the University of Palermo, where he also earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration in January 2006. His doctoral dissertation, “Assets and Financing Allocated to a Specific Venture: Regulatory and Business-Economic Profiles”, won the “G. Ferrero” Award granted by the Italian Academy of Business Administration for the best doctoral thesis in Business Administration defended in Italy during the 2006–2007 period.
He served as a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for the Analysis of Risk and Regulation within the Department of Accounting and Finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, where he specialized in Risk Management. He was awarded teaching mobility grants under the LLP Erasmus Programme at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal, 2010) and the University of Rzeszów (Poland, 2014). He first served as a Researcher and later as an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Kore University of Enna, where for approximately fifteen years he taught Auditing, Professional Practice, and Corporate Accounting and Financial Statements.
His research interests include Financial Reporting, Corporate Governance, Auditing, Risk Management, Corporate and Organized Crime, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Business Ethics. He is the author of four monographs, seventeen publications in top-tier (Class A) academic journals, and approximately seventy other scientific and educational contributions in the field of business and management studies.
He is a member of the doctoral faculty board of the international Ph.D. program in Law at the University of Catania and of the Ph.D. program in “Economic, Business and Legal Sciences” at the Kore University of Enna.
He is a Chartered Accountant and Statutory Auditor registered with the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. He is a member of the Italian Society of Accounting and Business Administration Professors and of the Italian Academy of Business Administration. He is also a member of the SIDREA Working Group on Business Valuation and coordinator and principal author of the CNDCEC–SIDREA guidelines on the valuation of seized and confiscated companies. Furthermore, he served as a member of GEV13B (Business Administration Sciences) for the 2015–2019 Research Quality Assessment (VQR).

He was a Visiting Scholar at the CARR (Centre for the Analysis of Risk and Regulation) of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in London, where he studied in depth issues related to Risk Management. He was granted with a scholarship for the LLP Erasmus programme for teachers' mobility abroad at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal, 2010) and the School of Law and Administration of Rzeszow (Poland, 2014). He was first Researcher and then Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Kore University of Enna, where he taught for about 15 years Financial Auditing, Professional Technique and Accounting and Financial Reporting.
His main research interests are Financial Statements, Corporate Governance, Auditing, Risk Management, Corporate and Organised Crime, CSR, Business Ethics. He is author of 4 books, 17 papers in top-journals and about 60 other scientific and teaching contributions (chapters and research papers) in the field of business administration. He is a member of the doctoral committee of the international PhD in Law at the University of Catania and of the PhD in "Economic, business and legal sciences" at the University of Enna "Kore". He is a Chartered Accountant and Auditor registered at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He is a member of the Italian Society of Teachers of Accounting and Business Administration (SIDREA) and a member of the Italian Academy of Business Administration (AIDEA). He is a member of the SIDREA Working Group on Business Valuation, as well as coordinator and extender of the CNDCEC-SIDREA guidelines on the business valuation of seized and confiscated companies. He is a member of GEV13B (Economic and Business Sciences) for the VQR (National Quality Research Evaluation) for the years 2015-2019.
