By
the end of the course, students will have acquired the foundational skills
necessary to engage with modern Chinese at a basic level.
They will be able to read and comprehend simple texts in standard written
Chinese, demonstrating an understanding of essential vocabulary and grammatical
structures. Students will also be capable of translating straightforward
sentences both from Italian into Chinese and from Chinese into Italian,
applying appropriate syntactic and lexical choices. Additionally, they will
develop the ability to produce short written passages on familiar topics and
participate in basic oral interactions, such as introducing themselves, asking
and answering questions, or discussing everyday subjects.
Furthermore, students will gain preliminary exposure to traditional Chinese
characters still in use in regions such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, enabling them
to recognize and distinguish some of the key differences from simplified
script.

Mandarin), aimed at equipping students with the essential language skills
needed to handle everyday situations. Students will acquire basic abilities in
listening, reading, writing, and speaking, using simple vocabulary and
fundamental grammatical structures.
By the end of the course, students
will be able to read and write approximately 300 simplified Chinese characters
and recognize around twenty traditional characters. They will also be able to
understand short, commonly used texts and engage in basic conversations on
familiar topics such as self-introduction, family, daily routines, leisure
