Anna MIGNOSA

Associate Professor of Public Economics [SECS-P/03]

Anna Mignosa is Assistant Professor at the University of Catania and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her expertise lies in the analysis of policies, especially cultural policies and their potential impact on society at large and the cultural sector in particular. She focuses on changes in policy making, cultural heritage and the relationship between culture and social development. Her current research has taken two different (but parallel path): the first investigates the relationship between culture and development and the role the former can play in society, the second concentrates on the economics of craft. She is the co-editor of the Handbook on the Economics of cultural heritage (Edward Elgar, 2013), the Economic analysis of craft (Palgrave, 2019) and teaching Cultural economics (Edward Elgar, forthcoming) and of various academic articles.  Anna holds a PhD from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, and a BA-MA in Economics from Catania University. She was a Canon Foundation fellow for the year 2007, and member of the Board of the Association of Cultural Economics International (ACEI) from 2010 to 2016.Anna is particularly interested in the potential effect of research on society.
