Catherine Ruth HALSTEAD

Native Speaker

I have worked in this department since 1989. At the moment I work 500 hours a year in the Department.

From 2013-14 I took a year off to teach English to Saudi girls at King Saud University in Riyadh. I collaborated with university until 2015.

I am particularly interested in teaching academic English. I completed a certificate in teaching English for Academic Purposes at Sheffield Hallam university in 2016-17.

I specialized in teaching writing skills. In summer 2017, I taught English for academic purposes at the university of Hull in Britain. I taught Chinese students reading and writing skills.

I also work as a translator (Italian to English). I translate academic texts and collaborate with professors in other departments of Catania University.
